Nayachar Eco-Industrial Park
The Eco-Industrial Park will be spread over 3595 acres at Nayachar Island and will focus on growth industries leveraging on the existing industries
located in Haldia and the locational advantages of the region. The Eco-Industrial Park will focus on downstream processing industries involved in
compounding, processing and finishing. There would be special emphasis on small and medium enterprises (SME) and export oriented industries.
Apart from
its port, Haldia is well connected with road and railway to Kolkata with other parts of the country, and these connections are being augmented.
The planning for the development of Nayachar Island is to ensure balanced distribution of land usage, provision of essential and reliable
infrastructure, utilities and transportation facilities and sustainable development.
A key component of the Eco-Industrial Park will be the 2,000 MW super thermal power plant being constructed by USE Power.
The Eco-Industrial Park will have also world class infrastructure facilities including Effluent and Sewerage Treatment Plants, an Emergency Response Unit, etc.
The USE Group has retained renowned consultants who are conducting different studies to ensure sustainability, technical feasibility and the
detailed business plan. On full commission the Eco-Industrial Park is expected to generate employment opportunities for approximately 50,000 people.
USE will also be developing lands in Haldia for providing the necessary social infrastructure to complement the industrial development at Nayachar.
The estimated investment in the Eco-Industrial Park is Rs. 4,000 crore.
