Nayachar Industrial Project New Kolkata International Development (NKID) is one of the largest infrastructure development projects being undertaken in India. The flagship project of NKID is the Nayachar Island project, which is a part of the 250 sq km West Bengal PCPIR (West Bengal Petroleum, Chemical and Petrochemical Investment Region) spread across Haldia Mainland and Nayachar Island. Industrial development in the PCPIR will primarily involve the Nayachar Island and will be an extension of the existing industrial operations at Haldia. This mega project is expected to accelerate regional development and shall endeavor to provide social and economic benefits to the entire region. It is projected to become the epicenter of economic development in the state of West Bengal.
